"Light hitting the retina suppresses the production of melatonin — and there lies the rub. In this modern world, our eyes are flooded with light well after dusk, contrary to our evolutionary programming. Scientists are just beginning to understand the potential health consequences. The disruption of circadian cycles may not just be shortchanging our sleep, they have found, but also contributing to a host of diseases. “Light works as if it’s a drug, except it’s not a drug at all,” said George Brainard, a neurologist at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia and one of the first researchers to study light’s effects on the body’s hormones and circadian rhythms."

Something fascinating for a Friday. What’s under your surfboard?
So, yeah, I tried it at work today and it worked well. I drank more water. Every short break I got some more. During each pomodoro I focused on the task at hand and when I had to wait for results, as I often do when waiting for odbc queries, I did things directly related to the task at hand. Tracking unplanned activities was also very easy. A win, I think.
What’s up with people today? A receptionist at dormitory thought I was trying to trespass. Sorry I forgot to wear my stocking cap. A computer salesperson asked
why I “still have a G5”. Cuz it ain’t broken! He wanted me to buy an $800 wireless card when I all I need is an antenna.
